Our first single from our forthcoming album
THE MORALITY OF HEART TRANSPLANTS
on Full Tilt Records!
Hi y’all. We spent our pandemic year working on a new album, the first for our new label Full-Tilt Records.
It’s almost done. It has all the tales of heartbreak and humanity and humor you expect from the Rakers, but there is much more. New instruments, new sounds, and new frontiers breached for your listening pleasure. Somewhere between a full mushroom experience and trying that weird kind of ramen you bought that time.
There are a few tweaks here and there to do before we can start sharing it out, but as this two-lane blacktop converges to the vanishing point, we are excited to get this jalopy rolling off the lot! Expect vinyl, a Kickstarter with extravagant and attractive premiums, some videos. We are considering some NFTs for you crypto types. Might even restart the podcast.
The world is your oyster and Raker ends in R, so get ready to slurp up.
Outside and free, just like you! Friday April 16 6-9pm
Iron Jaw Samson walked into My Father’s Moustache in the 70s. A young Lewis Roussel was tending bar in that Bourbon St. establishment. Our new song is the true story of that encounter.
In maybe our most epic episode, special guest Tiny Archibald AKA Busta Recap AKA Brenton C Francois joins the band in discussing: being raised by librarians, child-rearing, organ theft, Whitman samplers and the traditions of giving explosives to schoolchildren in Avoyelles Parish. Also we talk a little about Lance’s song “Your Eyes Are Mine”
Here is one of Tiny’s finest moments of GOT recapdom
*walks through the darkness not being able to see a damn thing*
Ok recap is up. This episode was so good after it was over I said out loud “I can’t recap that… It’s too dope”. Anyway Game of throne season 8 episode 3 : the long night aka the one where I forgot to breathe a couple of times aka no but for real it was really hard to see aka Jon snow is actually pretty crappy at saving the day aka Arya Stark from the logo! aka a whole new level of friendzone aka sure a crypt, why not. Recap is in the comments, spoiler protection on! (more on his Facebook page)
The band discuss their song “Pills” while trying to find the buzz in the room. They then tackle pharmaceuticals, the dynamics of post-breakup relations, and what happens the day after a hot dog eating contest. Leon reveals he exists in a reality bubble extending fifteen minutes into the future.
Here is the SNL bit starring Sam Waterston that inspired the bridge
We discuss Lance’s song “Problematic” from our new record NUMBER FIVE but, really, we talk at length about lucid dreaming. We have some weird dreams.
